Star Quality For Your Special Event!

Did you know that a client or guest can sue their DJ if they are injured on the dance floor?

We carry more than one million dollars of insurance.  If anyone injures themselves at your reception or party, we are covered. Our equipment is also covered, if something should be damaged or stolen. Lots of DJs don't realize they can be sued if someone gets hurt during a wedding dance!  This is peace of mind for both of us!

The bride & groom can really help boost the success of their event by being open to and participating in group dances like the Chicken Dance, YMCA, I Knew the Bride, and the Electric Slide. For more "risque" crowds, the "Bun and Leg" game is a lot of fun, providing you have the bride & groom's approval first!

The DJ should check in with the bride & groom at least twice throughout the night to see how things are going. If you don't ask, sometimes you don't know, even if you THINK things are going great! Ask the bride & groom if they are happy & if they want you to change anything. Many DJs judge the success or failure of an event based on whether guests are dancing. But it's not fair for a DJ to blame himself or herself for a non dancing party ONLY IF they are honest with themselves about doing absolutely EVERYTHING to motivate the crowd.

Volume level should be monitored constantly. It should be loud enough for people in the back to hear, but not too loud. If guests are complaining, adjust your volume level right away!

During social time, before the dance starts, the DJ should try to meet some of the guests, and place request slips on the tables. Let guests know you will be starting soon and will take requests.

Although some brides & grooms think participation games like the Chicken Dance (see above) are corny, the majority of guests LOVE these dances! If they aren't played, they are almost always requested. They are an important tool used to get the crowd going. If the bride & groom are very adamantly against them, they may allow their guests to take part, as long as a spectacle isn't made of the bride & groom.

Your music should be a mix of oldies, rock, country, disco, dance, slow ballads, 80's rock, Motown and usually one polka and one waltz. You should also include requests made by the bride & groom, parents, wedding party & guests. Some crowds like the latter part of the evening to turn into a "club scene," complete with thumping bass, fog and lasers.  Whatever you choose, we will work with you every step of the way to make your event a night to remember!
